Fred Knapp, the founder of our company, and his wife Beth were
the second owners of a 1929 colonial located in Cromwell
Connecticut. Although the house needed considerable
remodeling and updates, the charm and character of the wide
moldings, hardwood floors and old fashioned bath tub convinced
the first time home buyers to purchase the home.
The Knapps devoted countless hours to the improvement of their
home from complete kitchen and bath remodels to painting and
decorating. As the projects continued they soon realized how
many details of project materials and costs were being lost.
Mr. Knapp felt that many homeowners were in a similar
situation and would like to get organized. He used his
background as a software developer to create The Complete Home
Journal, a home improvement and inventory tracking tool.
